CHERRY VALLEY ARTWORKS is happy to invite submissions for sculptures to be exhibited as part of the 2019 Cherry Valley Summer Sculpture Trail in beautiful and historic Cherry Valley, N.Y. The show will run from June 29 to October 8, 2019.

Proposals from established and emerging artists will be considered. Both existing and new sculpture may be submitted. Though the trail is primarily a venue for outdoor works there are a few storefront locations for works suitable only for indoor display. The exhibition will include invited and juried artists.

There is no application fee. Chosen artists will be eligible for the grand prize. Stipends may be available to help with moving expenses.

Cherry Valley, N.Y. is part of the beautiful and historic Leatherstocking Region known as home to the Fenimore Art Museum, The Arkell Museum, The Baseball Hall of Fame and The Glimmerglass Festival. These attractions, particularly the Glimmerglass Festival, bring many thousands of cultural tourists to the region. The Cherry Valley Museum, two of the area's finest restaurants, Artworks popular concert series and other performances at The Star Theater are all a draw for many visitors.

Cherry Valley Artworks will provide installation/de-installation support (including the use of a crane truck) and liability insurance. Some monetary assistance for moving expenses may be provided.

 Sculpture Trail 2019 will be curated by Daniel Buckingham.

Daniel Buckingham, Artist and Pratt MWP Professor of Sculpture. Daniel teaches 3-D Design, Sculpture & Seminar in the Fine Arts curriculum, in Utica NY. Daniel attended Tulane University and received his BFA and MFA from Alfred University. Buckingham exhibits his work throughout the US and abroad. His work explores Cultural Exchange within the 21st Century context. His large-scale public commission, entitled “Tower of Bells” is located in the Park of Women and Children, Quito, Ecuador. Buckingham traveled solo by bicycle for 8 years exploring more than 60 countries. This enriching journey has become a major resource for his artistic practice and his understanding of the human condition. Buckingham had a solo exhibition at the Everson Museum, 2014 in Syracuse NY and recently was included in the group exhibition at the Albany Center Gallery, entitled “Masters of War”, Albany NY. Buckingham enjoys listening to Jazz and Blues music including Sun-Ra and The Art Ensemble of Chicago. Since 2000, he has been a Board-member for Sculpture Space Inc. in Utica, NY. Daniel lives in Clayville NY and shares a studio that he built with his wife, Artist- Tina Betz, their son Owen and daughter Sophie.
